Do clinical skincare products and treatments REALLY work? The results are in. See eight years of progress on my skin in photos and digital analysis.
As I’ve just had a birthday, I thought it would be a good time to do a progress check-in to compare how my skin is now towards eight years ago when I started keeping photographic and digital records to track results.
I actually did this skincare results update at the five year mark and can’t believe that another three years have passed since then!! Definitely time for another review.
For reference, my skin is typically Celtic pale and see-through with a tendency to rosacea and is normal to slightly dry in general.
My core skincare routine, as with everyone, cares for my skin TYPE then you add specific products and treatments to address any issues, conditions or preferences. In my case, I focus on anti-ageing but for you it may be prevention of ageing, acne control, rosacea or a mixture of things.

You can watch the full video below to see all of the before and after pics and readings, the good and the bad, but the short version is that my skin wrinkle profile is reading at 34 years old (I’m 47)! which is actually even better than previous years.

Over time with the continued use of products and treatments specifically chosen for your exact skin type and needs, your skin can actually continue to get stronger, healthier and younger!
Certainly I’m happier with my skin now than I was 10 years ago and I look forward to beating the clock for a long time to come.
My daily home routine:
Rinse with warm water and cloth.
Apply 1 pump Hydra Collagen Serum
Apply Skin Comfort Cream (pea size).
Cleanse with Skin Comfort Cleanser.
Apply 1 pump Age Slowly Serum.
1-2 times per month I will use my home roller and LED treatment (I really should do this weekly!)
My main treatment is microneedling, I have a course of 3 every two years or so and maintain it with a single treatment every six months. I have an LED facial once a month or so and exfoliate only when necessary, maybe once every two-three months. This could be with a home products such as Enzyme Exfoliator or with a clinical enzyme or acid peel. **In 2018 I added radio frequency to my microneedling treatments for collagen tightening**

While it is never too late to start and to see results definitely the earlier you start taking care of your skin in a properly customised and deliberate way the better.
