Types of reflexology – what’s best for your needs?
There are several types of reflexology in common practice around the world, each having grown over thousands of years from different ancient cultures. I offer four distinct types for different needs. I have listed them below along with suggested reasons for choosing one, but we can always create a special protocol for you as your self-care journey progresses and your needs change.
This is a neuro reflex therapy, meaning that it focuses on the nerve connection between the brain, body and organs. It also includes meridianology which is the focus on connections between the major organs, glands and their energy paths.
By manipulating the reflex areas and nerve points of the face we can find and ease the origin of any discomfort you are experiencing whether that is physical, mental or emotional. It is a great complementary treatment to any medical issue you are experiencing and I have found particular joy in helping women going through hormonal upheaval with this technique. Also particularly good in helping with digestive issues (which often manifest as deep lines on the face).

Also known as universal reflexology this is the most widely used in the western world and is the first method I learned many years ago. It uses a ‘thumb walking’ technique to stimulate all the reflex zones and is the choice for general relaxation and an immune system boost. This is the technique I mostly use in the well-being boost treatment option.
Choose this one as a relaxing and wellness boosting treat.
Like the facial reflexology technique, this is a much more detailed and personalised foot reflexology than the universal technique. Focusing on nerve connections and meridians, this is a highly therapeutic technique that can give amazing results on the physical body through deep work on the nerve, blood, lymph, musculol-skeletal, hormonal and organ systems. Every system in the body is treated and then any specific issues addressed even more specifically.
Choose this one when you have a specific physical issue to address or as an occasional deep reboot for the whole body to help keep you in good health.
