Facial oils are becoming more popular and there are many types available. I am a big fan of oils in skincare and there are three in the Skin Essentials by Mariga range. I have outlined the differences below and hope this will help to demystify facial oils for you. For more information on this or any aspect of skincare call us on 053 9145981or pop in to see us. Mariga.

Rosehip Seed Oil: This is a universal oil, suitable for all skin types and multi-functional. It contains essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants for protection and repair. Choose this oil when you are thinking PREVENTION. Use a drop or two under your day cream in cold weather to prevent moisture loss. Use once a week either alone or mixed with Hydrating Cream as an overnight hydrating mask. Add a few drops to your body lotion to enrich it.

Nourishing Oil: This rich, comforting oil is a blend of skin-friendly plant oils and butters. Choose this one for REPLACEMENT of lipids in a dry, chapped or neglected skin. Ideal for skins that are compromised due to ageing, medical issues or history of sun exposure. Think of this one as skin food! Use also on dry cuticles, elbows, or anywhere that needs some TLC.

Lipid Repair Concentrate: Choose this oil when skin needs CORRECTION. This treatment oil contains every lipid necessary for healthy oil function and acid mantle health. It will rejuvenate a compromised acid mantle (where skin has been over-processed and subjected to too much exfoliation) and balance and regulate either a sluggish or over-active oil flow. Useful for all skin types that need repair and oil regulation, and also great for restoring calm to inflamed acneic skin.
